Tony's Utah Teapot Page

The Famous Utah Teapot

After searching around and being unable to find a model of the Utah Teapot in Maya format, I decided to build my own from the original dataset. I've added a bottom and a rim for the lid to rest on - parts that are famously absent from the original model. They are clearly marked and removable if you want to be "authentic." The Teapot model is available in Polygons, NURBS, and Subdivision Sufaces. The SubD Teapot also has a version that is almost a physical model, it has interior walls and finished surfaces - no exposed planar surfaces - except on the inside where the spout meets the pot. I may fix that up in the future, but that's the way it is for now.

I'm in the process of fixing the links. The NURBS model is the only one I have on hand at the moment. I'll go find the others again soon.

Models:

NURBS model

Polygon model

SubD model (original shape)

SubD model (with full walls)
